How Motion Sensor Potlights Work
Motion sensor lights work through two important components. Firstly, the PIR(Passive Infrared Sensor) detects body movement through changes of surrounding heat, therefore producing an output of light. This output works with the relay. A relay is a home friendly electromagnetic switch run by a small current. Small currents from body movements turn the relay on, letting a greater current flow, thereby leading to instant lighting without lifting a finger.
